🌍 Remote (Based in GMT +/- 3)
Threesixfive is working with an exciting e-commerce technology company. Founded in 2019 in London, the company was started by 3 serial entrepreneurs passionate about ecommerce. Their mission? To make ecommerce integrations painless for the world’s best and fastest-growing brands.
Using their own proprietary platform and an incredible team, they now automate operational data for brands like Alessi, Represent Clothing, Adanola and New Era - to name just a few!
The company is experiencing impressive growth and are growing their team in order to be able to service their expanding client-base. A key role for their continued development is that of a Senior E-commerce Integration Engineer.
What they're looking for?
An experienced engineer to join their remote team, to build, support and enhance integrations on the platform for some of the world’d best retail brands.
You’ll work with the Solution Design team and Engineers to understand complex customer problems and find solutions to bring their requirements to life on the platform. You’ll be responsible for integration sustainability and be a hands on support for our customers. You’ll drive process enhancements, be a internal escalation point and push continuous improvements throughout the integrations department.
Your Responsibilities
Lead architectural and integration design decisions, defining patterns and standards that ensure scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability across the platform.
Own the technical strategy for complex or high-value client integrations, shaping scope, identifying risks early, and ensuring commercially sound solutions from design through to production release.
Be a hands-on engineer, writing and reviewing high-quality code daily while setting the bar for structure, testing, documentation, and production readiness.
Act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex engineering and production issues, driving root cause analysis and implementing systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.
Mentor and support Integration Engineers through thoughtful code reviews, pairing, troubleshooting, and structured development guidance, actively raising the capability of the team.
Collaborate closely with the Head of Integrations Engineering to solve complex technical challenges, develop proof of concepts, refine architecture, and enhance ways of working.
Promote continuous improvement across the integrations department, introducing new processes, automation, tooling, and engineering practices that increase efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Define and evolve testing, observability, and reliability standards to reduce regression risk and improve integration stability at scale.
Lead complex integration projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment between technical design, delivery timelines, commercial considerations, and long-term supportability.
Drive the adoption of automation wherever possible, identifying opportunities to remove manual processes and increase engineering leverage.
Lead engineering rituals where appropriate and ensure agreed engineering processes and standards are consistently followed across the team.
Communicate clearly with engineers, leadership, and other departments, aligning stakeholders and providing clarity in ambiguous or high-pressure situations.
Contribute to platform and integration strategy through research, prototyping, and informed recommendations that strengthen HighCohesion’s long-term capabilities.
Your Qualifications
Extensive experience as a software engineer, including significant hands-on ecommerce integrations experience with platforms such as Shopify, Netsuite, and Peoplevox.
Deep understanding of API design and integration patterns across REST, SOAP, GraphQL and common integration data formats (CSV, XML, JSON).
Proven ability to design and maintain scalable ecommerce applications in PHP (Symfony/Laravel), applying strong object-oriented design principles and architectural best practices.
Strong working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud-native design principles.
Advanced experience containerising and deploying PHP applications using Docker.
Experience designing and operating microservice and/or serverless architectures in production environments.
Strong understanding of version control workflows and collaborative engineering practices.
Demonstrated experience handling large data sets and high-volume data movement with a focus on performance, resilience, and observability.
Excellent written and verbal communicator, capable of producing clear technical documentation, architectural proposals, and client-facing explanations.
Proven track record of delivering complex, production-ready systems within agreed scope while balancing technical quality with commercial constraints.
You
Operate as a technical authority within the team, providing clarity and direction in complex or ambiguous situations.
Take full ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, anticipating risks, aligning stakeholders early, and ensuring delivery success.
Think in systems, identifying opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and reusability across integrations.
Actively mentor and elevate those around you, investing in knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
Balance pragmatism with long-term thinking, making decisions that serve both immediate client needs and platform sustainability.
Communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Confidently challenge assumptions and drive improvements in engineering standards and practices.
Remain calm and decisive under pressure, particularly in high-impact production or client-facing scenarios.
Stay current with relevant technologies and integration patterns, identifying opportunities to strengthen HighCohesion’s platform capabilities.
